Tuesday’s “First Call” gives us an update on the Leonard Fournette trade front. The asking price could dip into the Steelers’ range if they are interested.
That’s not it for drama in Jacksonville. Another Jaguars player is going after ownership.
Jameis Winston is playing coy with his free agency. And you can still boo NFL commissioner Roger Goodell even though the draft is going to be exclusively online.
One thing that will be missed about the NFL Draft this week?
No booing of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
Yes, the most powerful man in sports is going to escape his annual public humiliation this year.
Or so we thought.
In an effort to further besmirch the commish … or raise money … or aggressively market a new product … or all of the above, Bud Light has come up with a strategy for football fans across the country to show their appreciation for the job Goodell has done in the largest sports throne imaginable.
Since the draft is being held entirely online this year and not in a giant convention center, stadium or arena, fans are going to have to get creative.
Via NFL.com, Bud Light Seltzer is asking NFL fans to record their boos on their phones, then post them to the beer’s Twitter account with the hashtag #BooTheCommish.
Bud Light will donate $1 to the NFL’s “Draft-a-Thon” up to $500,000 for every “boo.”
The NFL Draft will be without an important tradition. And we just can't let that stand. Record your boos then post & tag @budlight and #BooTheCommish. We’ll deliver the boos to the Draft, and for each #BootheCommish thru April 25, we’ll donate $1 to NFL Draft-a-Thon up to $500K. pic.twitter.com/fnvcYDpZPW

Based on how Goodell handled such matters as Ben Roethlisberger’s suspension, fines for James Harrison, SpyGate, DeflateGate, the anthem fiasco and some other matters, I’m pretty sure that Goodell will see a few fans in Black and Gold even though the Steelers don’t have a first-round pick.
Elsewhere in “First Call”…
We told you in Monday’s “First Call” that the Jacksonville Jaguars may be shopping running back Leonard Fournette.
We also told you that if the return required from the Jags was minimal, the Steelers should investigate what it would cost to acquire him.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Jacksonville isn’t finding a lot of good offers.
The #Jaguars had trade talks centered around RB Leonard Fournette for more than a month, and they circled back with teams in the last three days, sources say. No takers yet. A sign Fournette could be headed out of Jacksonville before the 2020 season.

Maybe it’ll get to the point that the Jags just cut Fournette loose and the Steelers can sign him in free agency if they so desire.
Rapoport also has an update on former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston.
He still hasn’t signed with a team as a free agent. That means the rumors about him coming to Pittsburgh will no doubt continue.
But according to Rapoport, this might be a strategy on Winston’s part. He says, come next week, the former Buccaneer may be waiting to hunt a team disappointed that they couldn’t draft a quarterback of their liking this weekend.
Back to the Jaguars, they are having problems with another star player. It’s pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue.
He’s under the franchise tag and wants to be traded.
How badly? Well, to the point that he is calling the owner’s son “spoiled.” Senior vice president of football administration and technology Tony Khan didn’t back down on Twitter. And it got spicy.
Are the New York Mets on the block? If so, “Jenny from the Block” may buy them.
That’s right, Jennifer Lopez and former Major League star Alex Rodriguez may be working on a bid to buy them.
That’s according to Variety. The outlet reports, “The Wilpon family, which owns the Mets, said in December they were in talks to sell up to 80% of the Major League Baseball team to hedge fund titan Steve Cohen in a deal that valued the club at $2.6 billion. Under terms of that proposed deal, the Wilpons would’ve maintained control of the franchise for five years.
Negotiations fell apart after Cohen sought to amend the terms.”
The couple is reportedly worth $700 million.
