Guillaume Mascotto was named managing director, head of environmental, social and governance strategy at Jennison Associates, a spokesman confirmed in an email.
It is a new position. Mr. Mascotto will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and managing the day-to-day operations of Jennison's ESG activities. He is based in New York and will report to Peter L. Clark, managing director and head of product and strategy.
Mr. Mascotto was vice president, head of ESG and investment stewardship for American Century Investments. The firm has launched a search for a replacement, an American Century spokeswoman confirmed in an email. Victor Zhang, senior vice president and chief investment officer, will continue to oversee the firm's ESG practices and provide guidance for the ESG and investment stewardship team until a replacement is hired.
Jennison is an affiliate manager of PGIM and had $241 billion in assets under management as of March 31.
