The 29-year-old has shown no struggles adjusting to MLB pitching after playing seven years of professional baseball in Japan. Yoshida is batting .300 in his first MLB season, including a slash line of .308/.379/.423 over the last three weeks.
Yoshida, a left-handed hitter, is hitting .313 with an OPS of .874 against right-handed pitching as the Rockies are scheduled to send right-hander Connor Seabold to the mound on Monday. Yoshida has also performed better at Fenway Park with an OPS of .898 in Boston. In addition, the Rockies have allowed the second-most runs in baseball at 367 this season.
