Charles Leclerc has hailed the consistency from his SF-23 which enabled Ferrari to make a one-stop strategy work.
The Ferrari driver managed to recover after a disappointing qualifying up to P4, when the team made use of an early Safety Car to keep both drivers out on a one-stop strategy.
This enabled them to build up a gap to everyone in the midfield who was on a two-stop strategy, with the only other drivers on a one-stop being Alex Albon and Valtteri Bottas.
With Ferrari's main weakness being tyre wear in the last few races, Leclerc credited their competitiveness shown on Friday for all tyre compounds for the reason why they could make an aggressive strategy work.
"Considering where we were starting from, I think is the best we could have done today," Leclerc told Sky Sports.
"Where I'm most happy is that the good feeling that I had on Friday during the race simulations was confirmed today.
"In any of the compounds we put on, whether it was on the Medium or the Hard, we were quite competitive."
Leclerc: Ferrari struggled with consistency early in the season
Ferrari introduced their first significant upgrades at the Spanish Grand Prix and while Leclerc suffered from a mystery issue that plagued him for the weekend, it seemed to rectify itself this weekend.
This enabled him to make use of a different setup direction which gave him most consistency, something they lacked at the beginning of the season.
"Where we were really, really struggling the beginning of the season was consistency," he explained.
"We would go from a Medium tyre, which was quite okay to a Soft or Hard tyre and then the car would fall apart completely.
"It seems that I went in quite a different direction this weekend in terms of setup. I felt a bit more at ease and that gave me a bit more consistency on all [tyre] compounds."
