With so many diplomatic and military choices for the player to make, a level-head and a defined goal are key to the success of the young Lord Serenoa Wolffort.

When it comes to the narrative side of Triangle Strategy, the player will be interacting with the Conviction system. The Conviction system is an internal record of the personality the player has created for Lord Serenoa Wolffort. This system is broken up into three separate stats: Utility, Morality, and Liberty. The level of points in each of these three areas will determine which companions and which routes are available to players as they continue their journey through the narrative-rich story of Triangle Strategy. Due to the hidden nature of this system, where players cannot see what effects actions have on their convictions nor the total number of points each conviction has accumulated, players may find it beneficial to choose a personality for their playthrough. By choosing two of the three stats early on to focus on, the player can better fulfill a rich narrative centered around that path.

In addition, it is important for players to fully explore each exploration stage presented to them. A playthrough of Triangle Strategy can last 40-60 hours on average, which could trigger a degree of impatience amongst players who care more about the combat gameplay than the lore of Norzelia. While Exploration Stages may initially appear skippable, they are the player's source of Political Intelligence. Not only do some NPCs contain choices that affect the player's Conviction stats, but conversations with some NPCs will unlock various Political Intelligence which can unlock options for players to choose later in their journey.

Combat Gameplay Tips & Tricks in Triangle Strategy

While the diplomatic side of Triangle Strategy can be intense, there will inevitably be battles that Lord Serenoa Wolffort and his companions must win. Luckily, there are many ways players can get the advantage in Triangle Strategy. As the player progresses through the game, they will quickly unlock more resources in their Encampment that they can utilize to increase the strength of their units. The Tavern is one of the most important resources available in the Encampment, as players can talk with the Bartender to initiate Mock Battles. Mock Battles are incredibly efficient for gaining levels, materials, and kudos; players looking to increase the capacity of their troops will find all they need by engaging in these Mock Battles.

After all preparations are complete, players will need to engage the enemy on the battlefield. As a strategy RPG, Triangle Strategy's combat gameplay can be very imposing for new players. The key to success in these battles is understanding the units the player has available to them. When acquiring a new unit, the player will be given a quick tip on the strengths of that unit. When approaching upgrades to units or actual combat with that unit, players should prioritize working to that unit's strengths over shoring up its weaknesses.

As a strategic game, Triangle Strategy rewards players for placing their units in positions and situations to best capitalize on the strength of that unit. However, while Triangle Strategy has been frequently compared to Fire Emblem, there is no perma-death for units that fall in battle in Triangle Strategy. Players should feel free to sacrifice powerful units during a battle in order to gain a tactical advantage on the battlefield, as that unit will return in the next battle regardless of their fate. As long as the loss of a unit is not part of the failure conditions of that, players may find sacrificing that unit in combat. Altogether, with proper tactics and focused diplomacy, players can overcome the obstacles facing Serenoa Wolffort in Triangle Strategy.
