The New Orleans Saints will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Divisional round this weekend, and it’s poised to be an exciting one especially for DFS players. Tom Brady vs. Drew Brees — what more could anyone ask for?
Outside of the big names, who are some lower-tier value flex plays on both teams that could help you win this Divisional game showdown on DraftKings while keeping you under the salary cap? Let’s discuss some options below.
Cameron Brate, TE, $3,000
Brate had a big contribution last week as he went 4-for-6 for 80 yards in the Bucs’ 31-23 win over Washington. Surprisingly, Rob Gronkowski only saw one target all night as Brate saw the majority of the TE action. If Tom Brady continues to target Brate as much as he did last week — or even half as much, for that matter — he makes for a fantastic value pickup at only $3k compared to Gronk’s $7.5k salary.
Latavius Murray, RB, $7,200
Murray has been consistently good for double-digit points nearly all season long, and will be a fantastic choice if he is in fact deemed healthy for this weekend. He pulled up lame with a thigh injury last week in the Saints’ 21-9 win over the Bears and was held out of practice earlier this week. He’s still deemed questionable at this point, but if he’s cleared to play against the Bucs, he’s another great value option for anyone’s team.
Deonte Harris, WR, $8,400
Harris, fresh back from the IR list, is a good option if you’re looking for a receiver who’s almost guaranteed to get you double digits, but you don’t want to drop upwards of $16k on someone like Michael Thomas. Harris played his first game after returning from injury and made quick work of it, catching all seven of his targets for 15.1 DFS points. He’ll likely split the majority of targets with Michael Thomas, so he’s a great pick if you can’t quite afford Thomas in your lineup for this contest.
