Tomoya Asano, the producer of Square Enix's upcoming Switch game Project Triangle Strategy recently gave a Q&A session at Game Live Japan. He went into detail about the game's length, genre, and more.
Project Triangle Strategy was revealed during a Nintendo Direct last month. A demo for the game released on Switch at the same time that showcased a few chapters from the middle of the game, along with showing it's voting mechanic, which will allow the player to determine the direction the game's story will take.
Project Triangle Strategy is a turn-based strategy game with gameplay like the old Final Fantasy Tactics games, but a visual style more similar to the recent Octopath Traveler. According to the producer, Project Triangle Strategy is planned to have multiple endings, which makes sense, given the nature of the player being able to choose between different paths in the demo. He also revealed that, while the total amount of play time is up in the air, he and his team always shoot for the 50 hour mark when making games.
The producer also talked about how drawing duties for Project Triangle Strategy are divided up among all team members, but that there are still a lot more characters than there are jobs in Bravely Default, so it was a lot of work. He also revealed that, among staff members who played the demo and had to make the choice between saving Roland and giving him up, about 58% protected him, 8% gave up on Roland, and 29% played both paths.
From this interview, and what was shown in the demo, fans are getting excited about this game. The voting mechanics look interesting and the gameplay looks like it will be a good successor to Final Fantasy Tactics.
Project Triangle Strategy is in development for Nintendo Switch.
