Fantasy football picks, Week 1: Best DFS value lineup strategy for Texans vs. Chiefs in DraftKings Showdown - DraftKings Nation

The Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams go head-to-head Sunday night. This matchup gives us two of the fastest paced offenses in the league. Both team ranked in the Top-10 in points scored, but neither were able to get into the playoffs.

The bulk of those fantasy points are going to go to the likes of Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper, Jared Goff, Cam Akers, Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp. The question is, who are those one or two players further down the radar that will become critical in this game and help you roster more studs in the DK Showdown?

The rookie isn’t super cheap, but for a player of his ability, $5,800 is a nice cash saver. The trio of Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and Lamb is outstanding, but Lamb has the upside to be considered with those three without much backtalk. His size and hands make him a perfect red zone candidate and a touchdown is very much in the cards. He’s likely the cheapest Cowboys offensive skill player I would want in cash games.

Van Jefferson, WR, Rams, $1,600

Jefferson’s price will bring in a lot of suitors for his Showdown services this Sunday and rightfully so. The rookie was able to beat out Josh Reynolds for the No. 3 receiver kob and received plenty of praise in doing so. He’s still down in the depth chart enough to not be assured a useful workload, but he should get his chances at a cheap price.

Everett looked great last season before he was injured and subsequently Wally Pipp’d by Tyler Higbee. Sean McVay seemed adamant about keeping Everett in the game pllan due to his ability, but there are only so many targets to go around. The good news is that the Rams are going to throw the ball a lot and give multiple players chances. The bad news is that Everett is very far down on the pecking order at the moment. He’ll be a touchdown or bust play tonight, but his ability makes a touchdown a real part of his outcomes.

Brown is the steady veteran of the group while Akers and Darrell Henderson are the upsiders. If you use Brown here, you’re hoping he gets goal line looks out of this possible committee, which isn’t far fetched. Coach Sean McVay hasn’t tipped his hand as to how he’ll use his running backs and giving them all looks is possible to start the season.

Darrel Henderson, RB, Rams $3,400

Henderson has been hurt, but practiced in full and should be ready for this matchup. His upside with his price gives us some hope, as we know Henderson is a home run hitting type of player. But there is little doubt that risk is high with him coming off of a hamstring injury. He is strictly a GPP play.
