The New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles will face off in a Madden sim Sunday at 6:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Captain’s Pick
Miles Sanders ($10,800)
You’re really looking at two RBs as the best options at Captain. Le’Veon Bell ($14,100) being the other one. Sanders is the better value at 16.8 DKFP per sim and just a shade under $11K. Sanders has been a TD machine for the Eagles with 15 in 24 simulations. He’s also been very active in the passing game with 57 receptions, 415 yards and four TDs through the air. So if you want to go with the chalk, Sanders is your best option at Captain.
Fade of the Game
Carson Wentz ($17,100)
QBs are almost always overpriced in these simulations. Wentz is an extreme case at over $17K salary. The Jets have one of the better Madden defenses and Wentz has had two games below double-digit DKFP in his past four sims. I say this over and over about QBs: You just don’t get a high enough ceiling for the price. QBs rarely go for 30+ DKFP and are always expensive.
Bargain Shopping
Let’s go over the WR plays first since those are always the most obvious. Demaryius Thomas ($4,800), Nelson Agholor ($5,200) and Jamison Crowder ($6,400) are all solid. I’d consider DT safer relative to cost with Crowder behind him and Agholor as the outlier. Agholor has more appeal as a leverage play.
The Jets D/ST ($3,400) is actually sneaky good. New York has 45 sacks in 24 simulations. It doesn’t seem like a lot, but consider that we normally don’t get averages for this many games in a season. The Jets generally hover around 3.0 sacks per game and have 26 forced turnovers in 24 games, which is a great ratio for Madden sims.
