The Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams will face off in Sunday’s first Madden sim at 12:00 p.m. ET. DraftKings will have a Showdown contest for the game, and we break down ideal lineup strategies here.
Captain’s Picks
Mitchell Trubisky ($15,300) has developed a reputation as one of the more reliable signal caller this sim season. While he’ll be up against an elite secondary, he’s been able to eclipse 20 fantasy points without being a prolific passer because of his mobility. Los Angeles has a solid defensive line as well, but rolling the dice on the lesser offensive team could be worth it here.
It’s often difficult to single out one member of the Rams’ receiving corps to focus on, so Todd Gurley ($12,900) is the safer pick. He’s proven to be a better option than Cooper Kupp in most cases and is versatile enough to impact games on the ground and through the air. If you fancy a wide receiver pick, Robert Woods ($11,400) is probably a better pick than Kupp.
Flex Men
Tyler Higbee’s ($7,200) catching (95) is elite among both tight ends and wide receivers. He’s managed to post solid numbers despite Los Angeles’ crowded receiving corps. Trey Burton ($7,000) doesn’t have ratings as desirable as Higbee’s and is part of a worse receiving group and should also receive some flex consideration. If you want an option cheaper than those two, consider a lineup with two running backs and give Tarik Cohen ($2,800) a look.
