Captain’s Picks
Neither team in this matchup has a good secondary, so Jameis Winston ($15,900) will probably be one of the trendier captain’s picks. After all, he has two wideouts with superstar traits and throws the ball a ton. If you think Tampa Bay will be overwhelming through the air, Winston is the best pick. If you think the game will be close, Ryan Tannehill ($16,200) might give you a similar level of production for much less. Tampa Bay’s run defense is strong and Derrick Henry has been below average on the ground, so Tannehill could be forced to throw the ball quite a bit.
If you’re eyeing playing wide receiver in the captain spot, Mike Evans ($15,600) is your man. He’s the highest rated pass catcher in the contest, excels on streak and curl routes, and can haul down passes in tight coverage at an above average rate.
Flex Men
O.J. Howard ($7,200) has been one of the more productive tight ends we’ve seen when it comes to scoring touchdowns. He has a higher DKFP average than Chris Godwin and costs less. None of the Titans’ pass catchers can match his numbers.
Dion Lewis ($2,800) is another flex play I’d consider. Henry gives up plays to the RB2 on third downs and passing plays often, and he provides PPR upside for cheap. None of the running backs in this matchup are very promising, but the case for Lewis is based on his ability to return some value.
